[SOLVED] max temps cpu (I7-7700k) 80-84c, safe?

Solution
Thank you for the advice! But my temps while gaming are not higher than 65c. They peeked at 80-84c when I stress tested my CPU. So they never get that hot while gaming or doing anything similar.

But in the future I probably will get a better cooler. But is this fine for now? Or should I clock my cpu back to 4.3ghz or even 4.2ghz (stock)?
As long as it is only running mid-60s you are fine. Mid 80s would shorten the CPU life span though.

Those temps are a little hot, if you want to get better temps get a better cooler. I would opt for a be quiet dark rock pro 4 or noctua nh-d15 as the 7700 is a hot beast. I would suggest a high end AIO, but I'm an air guy still.

For everyday use I would be a lot happier in the mid 70s instead of mid 80s.

Jobjanusz,

Although "Throttle" temperature for your i7-7700K is 100°C, it's not recommended to let it get that hot.

Here's the nominal operating range for Core temperature:

Core temperatures above 85°C are not recommended.

Core temperatures below 80°C are ideal.

Keep in mind that Core temperatures increase and decrease with ambient (room) temperature, for which the International Standard for "normal" is 22°C or 72°F.
