Maxell 4gb pen drive not working

Hi,
Quick question.
Maxell 4GB pen drive, when inserted, asks for hardware 5 installation? When I click on next the computer does not recognize it and does not appear my PC. Any suggestions?

Did it ever work in that machine? Try the drive in a different machine to see if it works. If it doesn't then it sounds like it's toast. Or is this an encrypted flash drive?
