I want to maximize the data transfer rate between two computers. I replaced my Tenda 100M switch with a TP-Link TL-SG1008D 1000M switch and bought Cat7 cables for the two computers. The transfer rate on an 8GB file is 6242.850 MegaBYTEs/min. Is this about the best I can expect or is something wrong with my equipment. Is there anything faster?

Solution
So that's 104 MB/S x 8 bits per byte = 832 mbit/s, throw some overheads, CLOSE ENOUGH for government work.

Yes there is now 10 gbit systems if you have the money (as usual!). But is your CPU/HD/SSD whatever able to take advantage of it would be the next question.
