Hello,

I recently picked up a copy of Far Cry 4, and was utterly disappointed when my computer couldn't run the game smoothly on max settings. I would like to know what I could do to improve this performance.

My build is as follows:
-Intel i5 4670k
-EVGA Superclocked GTX 770 2GB
-Corsair Vengeance 8GB
-Corsair h100i
-Asus z87 Pro Motherboard
-Corsair HX850

I attempted to overclock my GPU using MSI afterburner, GPU-Z, and Heaven, but I could only get my core clock speed up 50MHz and the Voltage up 12mV. I have not tested the game since I have reached this seemingly stable overclock, but is it worth overclocking my CPU and RAM as well? Will this result in a drastic increase in performance?

Thank you advance for all of your responses! Cheers!

Solution
Overclocking the CPU should be your first choice and only do RAM if you want to push it farther. The problem with overclocking ram is that it speeds up everything and can cause instability if you go to high.

As long as you have your temperatures under control it doesn't hurt to overclock. The best advise I can give you is to take it slow as in small increases to whichever one you want to overclock first and stress test to insure you're stable. If at anytime you crash then you need to step back your overclock.

Add: The benefit is that you'll get some additional frames per second in gaming but don't expect something large.

Is overclocking my RAM really necessary? or should I just focus on the CPU?
