Folks:

Recently, I purchased a 2TB USB 3.0 external portable HDD. It works well on my windows 7 platform. Now I am planning to move up to much higher capacity HDDs and I am wondering what sort of issues I will have to grapple with.

What do I have to do to (i.e. Is there a way to configure) Windows 7 to be able to read from higher capacity HDD like (4, 8, 10) TB ?

Thanks in advance,
BoomerangTrades.

Solution
Hard drives larger than 2TB must be partitioned using GPT instead of MBR, which only supports up to 2TB. However, keep in mind that Windows 7 cannot be installed on a GPT partitioned drive.
