Maximum RAM (MHz) Supported by E6430

Dell's website says that the laptop can support up to 16GB Ram.

I currently have 4GB RAM installed in my laptop:
4GB PC33-12800 DDR3-1600MHz. I am wanting to upgrade to 16GB RAM:
16GB PC3-14900 DDR3-1866MHz. I know if I have 16GB PC3-12800, it will work, but my question is will PC3-14900 work as well? or Should I consider a PC3-12800 option for 16GB instead?

1600MHz is the fastest speed your laptop supports. The reason is the motherboard and the chipset support upto 1600MHz not above that. If you are not in any hurry then you can try 1866MHz at your own risk and if it works you can prove me wrong but with Dell the chances of higher speed working is very low. Good luck mate!
