Maximum resolution 1600x1200 on a tv vga

Hello, i just got a new tv and i wanted to use it as a monitor over vga cable. Its native res is fullhd but the max i can get is 1600x1200. Im using amd 17.7.2 drivers and an r9 380. The result is that everything just looks smudgy and awful

if is only 1080p why are you setting to 1600x1200?

what GPU are you using? IGPU? some GPUs have a maximum resolution that wont allow higher resolutions.

if your monitor or TV allows only 1080p you shouldnt be able to go higher!
1200 is higher that 1080p.

Native is 1920x1080. The max i can set it to is only 1600x1200, theres no option for 1920x1080
