What's the maximum storage capacity supported by W10?
And also, is there a limit on the number of drives supported?

I haven't found anything useful about that in Microsoft's help pages, not even a real technical specifications sheet, so I will thank any help on this topic.

Solution

Assuming 26 drive letters (not actually the limit, and with NTFS linking you can just keep adding drives) and 10TB disks on each, you could get 260TB. Using RAID/Storage Spaces and 8 disks per letter, you could get 2080TB. Connecting to a hundred computers each with 26 letters in use mapped to SMB shares, you now have 208000TB.

Seriously though, you'll run out of money long before you run out of storage capacity support in Win10, even if you are MS or Google!

Number of hard drives? Somewhere north of 6 (what is in my HTPC), and less than 27.
Total drive size? Somewhere north of 13TB (what is in my HTPC)

What does your motherboard do? That is the actual determinant.

I was afraid Microsoft somehow could have limited the storage to force you to buy Win Server. Many thanks for the information.

Storage Spaces (the software disk management system, not the term) is limited outside server since it doesn't feature some modes (raid 6 like, 2 tier storage, etc), but otherwise you're mostly limited by your costs and ability to connect disks to your computer. If you ever run out of ports though, simply use network shares and you can access even more.
