MaximumPC Cooling Article Opinions?

I was reading the latest issue of Maximum PC (January 2001) and thought the article describing how to build a "Heat Pipe" cooling system was interesting. Since I've never built one before (but I have worked with copper tubing) I was curious about what others thought of the design.

I read it but I don't think I am at that point yet. I also don't sure if I have the know-how or the tools to pull something like that off. I think my system is cool enough considering the extent to which I have overclocked my Duron 600.
I am going to stick with a few case fans, some Arctic Silver, and a GlobalWin FOP32.

Good luck and if you do it, let us know how it went.

It sounded like a cool idea to me. After all, the heat from the cpu is dumped outside the case. Makes sense. Too bad I'm not handy with tools.

If you attempt please post your experiences.

I went one step further than a basic heat pipe, and made a water cooler. Absorbs plenty of heat and dumps it into the transmission cooler.
