i have Asus Maximus Extreme(Republic of Gamers)...the first edition link below

Mobo's specs > here <

i am planing massive upgrades on my system and Cpu is one of them but i have a very SMALL budget..

SO noobish question but can i put a new i3 - i7 on that mobo or not ? :/

IF not what do u recomment for a mobo and cpu OR should i stay with this one and my Q6600 at 3.3Ghz ?? and where can i sell mine??

i am planning to fit a gtx 760 there for gaming at 1680x1050

*remember Small budget :)

Thank you

Solution
is the gtx 760 included in the €350 budget? if its not then go amd get asus sabertooth 990fx and fx 8320 should come in around €300 and then whatever postage to greece,
if €350 is the overall budget then stick with amd just get an apu the a10 6800k with MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 motherboard and an msi hd 7750 2gb for hybrid crossfire,
it will perform really good at your resolution,
Im not reccommending buying sandybridge or ivybridge as there now dead sockets (just my opinion not to invest in dead sockets) but you can of course go haswell if overclocking is not important to you an i5 4440 with an Asus H87M-PRO is in your budget or for overclocking the i5 4670k with asus z87-k is top end of your budget around €350 without postage

hey, ty for replying so quickly. i have a budget of 250-350 Euros for a cpu and a mobo :/ its tiny i know
i was dreaming of getting a republic of gamers Asus for newer cpu and like an i5 for gaming but there is an economy prob in my country. Anw , i ll buy a gtx760 so i am kind of looking at a system that can play high-ultra settings at playable frames like 50-60 (i guess).Btw i ll play at 1680x1050 should my Q6600 be enough?
The reason : my Q6600 and mob are now older than old so i was looking for an upgrade. What do you think? can i make the update with 350 or less and be woth it? :)

thnx man thnx for your suggestions :) the budget is 350 euros only for cpu and mobo.
i like this one what do you say? >> MSI Z87-G45 is it worst that >> MSI FM2-A85XA-G65. ??
i dont know the new cpu of Amd and how it performs and i have no prob bying one if it does the job. I only checked and wondered of getting a new 4th gen intel but i guess they are too expensive for my budget ,to be able to play smooth games of corse? :)

Sorry if am being annoying ,just trying to understand :)

the amd fx 8320 is a good cpu would not cause you any problems and with the asus sabertooth 990 fx and gtx 760 you would have a top end gaming machine,
the msi z87 g45 gaming motherboard is awesome , you only need a z87 motherboard if your going to be overclocking so typically you will need an i5 4670k with this board and its €20 dearer than the asus z87-k i suggested bringing price of cpu and motherboard to €370 before postage

no it doesn't mean that unless it specifically states sli support which the asus z87-k doesn't,
i think you need the asus z87-A for that which is basically same price as the msi z87-g45
as i see it you have a choice stretch your budget and go i5 4670k with the msi z87-g45 gaming or get the amd fx 8320 and asus sabertooth 990fx and stay in budget
