I'm using a new Corsair H100i V2 on my new build:

Asus Maximus XI Hero Wi-Fi
Intel I9-9900K
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 Mhz

XMP enabled, CPU at stock settings not overclocked.

The motherboard AIO pump header doesn't detect the H100's pump that's connected to it. The cpu then overheats after 2 minutes and shuts off around 90C. I tried moving the pump cable to the CPU Fan header and Optional CPU Fan header. The temps are still hovering around 89C but the cpu is 1 degree away from shutting off. I tried connecting the fans direct to the motherboard CPU fan headers and also to the H100's built in splitter. The temps are not going down. The entire time I'm sitting idle in the BIOS at 89C not overclocked.

I think my pump is dead? All hardware and H100 are brand new out of the box.

Isn't the AIO pump header supposed to register the H100 in the BIOS? I'm not seeing any readings on pump speed.

The radiator and hoses feel cold to the touch. I don't feel any heat moving through the cooler at all.

Solution
Is the AIO header even enabled in the bios? I would connect it the way the manual says to connect it, it's not like you're using the CPU_FAN header for anything else AND you can set it to 100% full time operation like it should be anyhow. If you still get no RPM signal with it connected there then there is undoubtedly an issue with either the pump or your fan controls/motherboard header.

Make sure you also have the pump connected to a usb header as directed by the manual.

I ended up doing an RMA with Corsair and they replaced the entire unit.
