Hi, I have the Maxtor One Touch 1TB, I have tried with windows 8.1, XP, Vista, all can't detect the drive.
I had tried the various methods, like checking the USB cable, Power Supply unit etc, all in working condition(it can detect other HDD after I removed the 1TB from the casing and tried with another HD).
Kindly advise, it contains almost 10 years of data inside🙁

Solution
Sorry, but sounds like your HDD is dead.

You can confirm by attaching it directly to your PC with the SATA cables.

You can try running the free version of Easeus Data recovery or similar but the drive must at least show up in Disk Management: http://www.easeus.com/data-recovery-software/

You can also try experimenting with some of the tools from www.ultimatebootcd.com
