Maxtor One touch III will not turn on.

My Maxtor One Touch III 500 Gb will not turn on. When I plug the adptor into the socket the green light shows brightly on it.

I had the same problem with mine. I would guess that the input board on the enclosure has died (mine did). The green light on the adapter was green, but I could not get the drive to read. I just took the drive out of the enclosure and put it in my pc as an additional drive - hooked up with sata and power and all was well.
