May Need BIOS Update?

I was planning on buying an i5 4460 with an MSI H81M-E34 board, but I'm getting the following message:

"Some Intel H81 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs."

Is this something to worry about? In the case that the BIOS is outdated, what would I need to do to update it?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on the motherboard and the BIOS version shipped.

In some cases, the system will boot far enough to allow you to update the BIOS so the processor will function normally.
In some cases, the system will not boot at all and you will be required to install a fully compatible processor for the current BIOS version installed and use that processor to update the BIOS required for your I5-4460.

Now the H81 chipset is fairly old and if you're buying it new, it *should* come with an updated BIOS, but there's no telling what BIOS version is actually installed save for maybe looking on the box (some companies will put a sticker on the box saying what BIOS version is installed).

Better board with 4 memory slots and works with that processor with the first BIOS version
The MSI board will need to ship with the 2nd BIOS version. https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H81M-E34.html#support-cpu
Good price on the combo deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2488879
I would try to spend the extra 10 bucks for the 4590 0.3 quicker turbo speed. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2488878
