My brother's PC has a very weird behavior, it doesn't turn on anymore at all but the weird thing is that if I disconnect the power cable, reconnect it, and then try to turn it on, the case lights light up for an instant and then turns off and if i continue to push the power button it stays off without the case lights lighting up for an instant.

At first I thought it was the PSU and decided to test this theory by replacing my PSU with my brother's to see if it powers up my build and it does 😀. So that's how i concluded that it was a Motherboard problem but to make sure that it was i decided to ask you guys so that I don't end up buying a new Motherboard for no reason.

thank you in advance :)

Well that certainly makes more sense...I get it now. I'd say you've at least ruled out the PSU. You might want to go through the troubleshooting sticky.

I'd try to rule out each component one at a time....RAM is where I'd start.
sorry for the misunderstanding what I meant to say was that i swapped my PSU with my Brother's PSU and his PSU booted my components. again sorry for the misunderstanding.

I removed my brother's GPU and turned on the computer, the pc seems to work including the Motherboard. I can hear the beep code coming up but the reason for it is because there's no gpu connected and there's no integrated gpu on the motherboard, so can it be the GPU?

I'm sorry it sounds confusing but what was happening was my brother's PC wouldn't turn on so I took out his PSU and tried his PSU on my computer and his PSU worked on my rig which lead me to believe that it was the Motherboard but then I removed his GPU and then tried to turn on his rig (with his PSU connected) and it turned on (but had beep codes because no GPU was connected which is understandable because I just removed it). So my latest theory is that his GPU could be dead. what do you guys think?

i started switching out parts and found that if i replaced his GPU it worked fine. Thanks everyone for your help 😀
