Maybe not overclocking but rather under-volting and how to do it right.

Hello everyone!

It's my first thread on the forums as I've recently bought a gaming laptop with an Intel 6700K.

It all works stable and without throtling but the CPU temperatures (GPU temps are rather fine rarely getting close to 80) are not great. I understand the argument that it's a desktop cpu and all but in Project CARS it goes up to 84-85 and has peaks to 91, which is what HWmonitor and HWinfo has shown. Normally it firmly stays in 70's or even lower but that's because many games don't stress the CPU much. Also good to mention the CPU is never stressed to 100% in Project CARS either. It stays around 50%-55% or so. It all depends on game but before that 84 was the highest monitored.

I've read somewhere that the stock voltage for a non-OC'd 6700k is 1.2v and my readings show everything between 1.3-1.33 max voltage which seems high.

I have no intention of ever overclocking the system in any way as I rather prefer it's healthy and stable.

And so the initial question. Please help m adjust the voltages as I am a classical musician inexperienced in the ways of the tech 😀 but I know enough to see the temps are worrying and I'd rather not have to stress and worry about the system health all the time and enjoy the experience..

Let me know if you'd like screenshots and stuff as I can provide it for more accurate help.

Thank you very much for your help!

It's a Clevo Barebones P775 DM3-G.

Which screenshots of the bios do you need? Also I have heard it's possible to devolt with XTU without using the bios.

What do you mean by 'silicon lottery'? Does it mean I got a faulty or overheating cpu?

Thank you for your interest and answer
