Mb and HDD problem?

Hi everyone,

is it true that in Ms Win Xp Pro, an installed harddrive can only run on the motherboard in which it was installed in? I have 2 motherboards, the old one can't read my HDD (previously it could, before I purchase a new one)

Oh by the way, what do you guys usually do to your old motherboard beside selling it? I got one with 1.5 processor and 256 RAMBUS

I usually build sytems, and with one that old, I give it to someone who doesn't have a computer.
With xp, it is not so much that the mobo cant read the drive, but that the xp install wont boot on a different mobo. Try the drive as a secondary drive, and see if windows can see it, or if the bios can see it. If the bios cant detect it, it's probably dead.
