MB & CPU choice - LGA-1150 vs 2011-v3 & Xeon better than i7 Processor?

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a motherboard (Possibly a L2011-3 X99 probably an ASRock Extreme6) or some other if 1150 compatible motherboard. I don't do any gaming, but have always have a zillion internet sessions open, remote desktop to multiple hosts, office apps, multiple word & multiple excel, MS-SQL Apps, video editing and graphics apps.

Would:
1. 2011-3 type motherboard be best?
2. If 2011-3 is yes, would a Xeon processor be better than an i7?

2011-3 is better than 1150 socket. Yes, Xeons are better than i7's in work stations, servers, etc. i7 is superior in gaming.
