Build Advice MB CPU RAM 3-400$

Ive been out of PC builds for a few years and aside from tinkering with my old AM3 build.

I would like some help/suggestions on getting a new MB, CPU and RAM for 300-400 $ range. I think everything else I have will work well with changing these 3.

I was looking to start with a MB such as the B450 Tomahawk MSI. Id like to use a MSI MB unless there is a better option .

I added in a aftermarket cooler as it is more effective for cooling, overclocking and is much quieter. The 1700 after OC will perform close to the 2700.

That being said you might want to wait a week to see how 3rd gen Ryzen will perform.

I prefer Asrock over MSI, have had too many issues with MSI myself. The 1700 doesn't have a iGPU so you have to use your dedicated GPU to have a display.

Its says AM4 support. I do own it already on my FX 8350

It will support it however if you bought that before the Ryzen lineup came out then your going to have to contact Cryorig for a AM4 bracket or just as them what you need to get it to work.

Yeah I would pick Asrock or Asus over the MSI. I had a Tomahawk and right now it's sitting in a box on my desk. The Asus B450 is the superior board.

Looking around. Is there any reason to go to a 470 over the 450?
