Looking for a motherboard and CPU I can upgrade to to get Cyberpunk running.
I generally run medium settings at 1680x1050 for games.

My current Specs:

MB: ASUS A88X-PLUS FM2+/FM2

CPU: AMD A10-6800k 4.1GHz

RAM: 2 x 8GB 240-pin DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) CAS Latency 10

HDD: WD Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM

GFX: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GD5T OC

PSU: Corsair RM Series RM750 750W ATX
12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92
+3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V@62.5A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3.0A

I don't know what half this stuff means anymore. Haven't put a computer together in almost a decade. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried it with what you have?

Not sure a processor will help since with that video card on low your only going to get about 40 FPS.

I was looking at some benchmarks of i5 3570k which is supposed to be intel equivalent to A10 6800K and now i realised how GPU intensive Cyberpunk really is.
Definitelly a better GPU would be better for cyberpunk.
But for FPS and BR games i would still upgrade the cpu.
Even a old 2500K could get him 50 FPS or so with a different video card.

In general that is the worst game right now and he would basically need a new PC and with the lack of video cards well it just is bad timing.

I would really consider getting a new GPU. There is no way you can play Cyberpunk with a 970, and actually enjoy it. You must be getting 15-20 frames? Maybe if can get ahold of one maybe pick up a 3060 or 3060ti. At least those card should be able to hit around 70fps if im not mistaken.

You can also probably get an i7 9700k. I recently seen them going for 199 at microcenter.

From the benchmarks at that resolution in the 40 FPS area (low and off)but only in the 35 FPS area with the processor.

Just came back to update. With all the upgrades Djoza listed (except GPU of course they are out of stock) the game is playable with a stable frame rate in most areas on low settings with high textures at 1080p. 60 dipping to 30s in city areas like japantown. BIG thanks to Djoza for the help.
