I bought a AMD 1ghz Thunderbird when it first came out. The place that sold me the chip sent an Asus K7V MB with it. This motherboard is a piece of garbage, it doesn't even support 4X AGP. My computer is constantly crashing, the video editing software i use doesn't work with it, i can't have a stable connection to the internet anymore... I've given up trying to fix it, it's hopeless, so I just was to throw it in the garbage and get a brand new MB. I've looked around, and I don't find any good Slot 1 motherboards. Does a good one exist or did i just get screwed over with this Slot 1 processor?

Also, could this be the reason why Quake 3 freezes and the sound repeats over and over?

What memory you have? What sound card you have? What video card you have? What network you have (modem or nic)? What harddrive you have? What windows you have? Why do you need Stot 1 mobo if you have TBird processor?

By the way, yesterday I played UT really well on the internet, little slow cos of the modem but it is nice... hehe

I read somewhere.
Maybe one of Tom's articles, that the KX133 boards had problems with T Bird cpu's.
Asus would not support the use of these cpu's

Somebody will surely correct me if I am wrong
But I'm pretty sure I'm correct.

you are correct in a sense... the kx133 can support slota t-birds but only at speed less than 800~850. t-birds less than that works fine.
