mb support for ECC DDR mem?

Does a mb have to support ECC, or does the mem module handle the corrections? I am getting the Soyo Dragon+ and downloaded the manual already - I don't see anywhere that ECC mem is supported, only specifies unregistered. Am I stupid for thinking I should buy ECC, or is non-ecc the only kind supported in this mb? (266a chipset)

Use the memory finder at crucial.com, and it'll tell you what your motherboard can support.

Thanks - I didn't know the mem finder was for mbs too - thought is was only for oem systems like dell, compaq, etc. Found exactly what I needed...I had just been going straight to the DDR 2100 mem type since I knew that was what I wanted and skipped the mem finder. Just placed my order - too bad I didn't know what I wanted back in Oct...I still have the printout showing $20 cheaper...oh well. I wanted to wait for mbs for the XP, so what I saved on price drops on the GeForce 3 I just spent on mem. Thanks again.

No problem :)
Aw, all that waiting and the same amount of money spent for the same products!

I myself find that memory finder extremely useful - it saves me a lot of work of having to search for manuals and specs of each board.
