MBR or GPT for Ubuntu?

Hello, I was about to create a bootable USB to install Ubuntu on my computer, and was prompted to choose between MBR or GPT.

Since I have a UEFI mobo and 500gb HDD, should I go for MBR? If so, why or why not?

If you have a UEFI motherboard, you should use the UEFI boot chain. This means using a GPT formatted installation media and a GPT formatted installation target.
