I went into "Disk Management" because I recently installed a new hard drive into my computer and windows is not detecting it in "file explorer". I was wondering if i should change it from GPT to MBR or keep it how it is.

2x 1.0TB drives.

Default selected was GPT. And I have never been to this window before so this was its default.

Solution
GPT is required for drive capacities larger than 2TB, MBR will work for anything under 2TB. If the default is GPT you can just leave it on that. It doesn't change performance either, just the maximum addressable space.
Just as a curiosity...

The reason Disk Management originally selected the GPT partitioning scheme for your 1 TB secondary HDD is because it detected your boot drive - your other 1 TB HDD - as having been partitioned GPT. Had that 1 TB boot drive been originally partitioned MBR then the initialization process would have first selected the MBR option for the secondary drive.
