Hello!

I have a BIG problem... I don't know how I managed to get into this but here it goes:
I wanted to make a clean Windows install. Therefor I've put my Windows disk in, went to install now - drive options - formt. I got the warning and since I backed up everything I clicked OK.
But than... I saw the message: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
I did install Windows before on this disk... I installed twice on another disk that is still inside but I don't want to use it for Windows. Even if I would I couldn't because all my disks are telling me the same thing....
Ofcourse I started to google this from my laptop but every solution I've seen on the web assumes that you still have Windows installed...... which I don't.
So here I am... after many many hours of googling for a solution... hopeing that some one might know how to fix this.... if there is any way at all...

Some additional information you might need:
Windows type: Windows 7 x64
PC spec: AsRock z77 extreme 4
Intel i7
Nvidia 560ti
3 disks inside: M4 SSD, OCZ SSD, 1tb HDD

one more weird thing: If I go in bios - boot selection, I can see my dvdrom twice. Once with UEFI in front and once without. If I tell him to boot from the UEFI name, it works but if I turn that off and I tell him to boot from the DVD while selecting the name without UEFI in front, it reacts like there is no DVDrom...

Anyone has the slightest idea what this is? I am ready to try ANYTHING!

Thanks for your time

Dan

Solution
Right... so here is the solution I've found! This might come in handy for others in a similar situation.

Appearently it had nothing to do with UEFI or not UEFI in Bios nor with the booting selection. As long as I chose something to boot from my windows cd it was all fine and dandy. Now, what I did was to delete the one partition I had on that disk and redo it. Windows asked for my permission to create additional partitions as it sees fit and once I clicked ok, windows created two additional small partitions (bout 100mb each). Once I did this, I was able to install Windows on whatever disk I wanted...

Its still a little weird if you ask me but than again, I'm far from an expert so I'm just glad I have found a person willing to help...

I hope this will help some one and if you want to ask any other questions about this, just go ahead and ask.. if I can help you, I will!

Thanks again and see you around!

Cheers!
