Mcafee no sense scan of empty installer

Its really hard to understand the logic behind Mcafee Labs sometimes. nsis installer is something every developer is familiar with. I use nsis for lot of my programs but all the time mcafee tends to give me all these stupid alerts. Even an empty installer is being detected as a threat. Here is a analysis of an empty pack

You can clearly see Mcafee acts so weird and I really hope there are others who faced the same problem and willing to complain about this.

McAfee is useless.

There are better options. I use Panda Cloud Antivirus Free, it's light, has good and simple features and it's free.

Others will tell you their own experiences with others AV softwares.

In this case, I have to agree with you. However the problem is not about the virus guard itself but most programs we develop are using nsis installer and we can't ask customers to change their antivirus guards to run our programs. However it was really nice to find a related forum thread on community of Mcafee.https://community.mcafee.com/message/355351#355351

Yeah absolutely there are better options than using Mcafee, however I am facing the same problem here and thanks for the community link I will file a false positive and participate in discussion. Also check out NSIS official website mentions about false positives

Yeah please participate in community discussions and it will help Mcafee to take an action about the problem. They should whitelist NSIS with their next definitions hopefully.
