MCH and FSB voltages

The C2D overclocking guide says to set the MCH to 1.55v and the FSB to 1.4v. I don't know how to do this though. I have a GA-965P-DS3P with version F4 of the BIOS. Under thoes settings, it lets you add +0.05v, +0.10v, and higher incriments of 5. How do I know how much to add to the MCH and FSB to get them to the voltages reccomended in the guide?

Press Ctrl+F1 after you login to the bios menu.........
Don't worry about MCH & FSB volt options .How much you gonna OC?
Just set your MCH to +0.10 & FSB +0.15 .After that OC your CPU ..Stress it using TAT @ 100% (10 min).If it stable and temps are OK! Run dual Prime95 for 2h.If prime95 fail ...! you need to increase your MCH $ FSB by +0.05v(Or maybe CPU vcore).
 
Ok, thanks. I've actually all ready done the overclock, but I'm having to use 1.4 volts for the vcore to get it stable. I was wondering if it was the MCH or FSB voltages that were causing the instability. But I left Orthos running today for 6 hours, and I got no errors, so it can't be.

And it's an E6600 overclocked to 3.4Ghz. Should I need 1.4v for that overclock to be stable?

Ok...If Orthos small FFT9 stable .You are OK now.I'm sure you need 1.4v to OC upto 3.4Ghz .But chk your core0 and core1 temp using TAT @ 100% 10 min.
 
It gets up to a toasty 67 degrees in TAT@ 100% load, and I think I saw 69 in CoreTemp. I don't know what the problem is, I've got a Tuniq Tower 120, and I've tried reapplying the thermal paste several times. It never gets over 60 in other programs though, so should I be worried?
 
Just a question add to this. What is the stock MCH voltage anyways? is it 1.55v or is the stock an auto adjusting value? I am curious because I have it set to stock and have the vcore higher. If i raise my MCH could i lower the vcore?
 
My EP45-DS3R has the MCH at 1.1V default. I'm told that this may be too low for my memory and may be causing memory errors in Memtest. I've had to bump my voltage to 2.16V on a pair of Corsair Dominator PC8500 DIMMs to get them to pass at 5-5-5-15 2T timings. What should my MCH be at? Also, my Q9450 is overclocked to 3.2GHz (400 x 8).
