I have been reading posts in this group for sometime now and it is quite obvious
that measekite is a 100% troll who just likes annoying and upsetting people.
However, the more everyone responds, the more of a kick he/she gets out of the
posts. It is also quite obvious that he/she has nothing to add to the group, so
I put him/her into my killfile ages ago. Then he/she changed their e-mail
address and I had to put another entry into my killfile. If everyone did that,
we would not see any of the inane postings made, but some of you just insist on
replying, echoing back his/her posts. This has two effects - I see measekite's
posts, despite having killfiled him/her, and by replying brings you down to his
extraordinarily low level. He/she WANTS you to reply so he/she can carry on
spouting drivel. Bit like a baby - the more attention you give it, the more it
demands.

The old adage applys DON'T FEED THE TROLL!

This used to be a very useful discussion group, but unless measekite is removed,
it will be totally wrecked. So come on everyone, killfile measekite and just
ignore him. Without any attention he will drift away down the nearest gutter.

OK, rant over!

Had this conversation at least a month ago but didn't do much good as
can be seen.

If it's such a big problem, isn't there something the group's admin(s)
can do?

What group admins?

Usenet, for the most part, is a socal anarchy. While it is possible to
setup a group an administrative hierarchy in the charter, i.e. a
moderated group, this has to be done when the group is created. Most
groups like this one are totally unmoderated. There are usenet admins
who manage their own server who take it upon them selves to cancel
messages, this is generally reserved for spam or messages that violate
the rules for the whole of usenet. Messages that are in violation of a
group's charter or faq can be forwarded to the ISP's abuse department
where they can, if they think nessicary, remove the user's usenet
access or cancel their internet access.

I don't know where to find the charter to this group.

" If you want a target for removal, I'ld suggest comp.laser-printers
as a good possibility. It is moderated and the moderator seems to have
been
"dead" for a couple of years now. Actually, I think an unmoderated
comp.periphs.printers should be created and comp.laser-printers nuked.

Rename this group to comp.imbeciles.measekite because the value has been lost. The volume of his posts will only get worse now that school vacation has started. plonk!

Tel - I couldn't agree more. I did have him kill filed for a while, but
when I saw the misinformation he had given people when reading their replies
to him I felt compelled to take him off kill file to at least respond with
what I regarded as a reasonable answer to a persons original question. I
have been using PC's since IBM installed 360k disk drives and have found
that I have solved more of my computer and peripheral problems through
usergroups and forums than from official hardware and software tech support.
On some occasions the information was buried in a tech support website and
was pointed out by a usergroup participant, on other occasions it was a
response from a volunteer IT pro or person who worked for the software or
hardware firm, and on still other occasions it was simply another
non-professional user like myself who had experienced the same problem and
spent the time to help others.

While it is difficult to avoid responding to his invective and insults, I
think you are absolutely correct.

Never. The Putz always answered. Really kept me busy. Because of him
and his partner Frankie Crankie I write 10 times the posts I normally write.

Everybody can have their say. Too bad some do not like it. It is
tough. These idiots started calling me names when they felt insulted
about their beloved vendors who I think are screwing them. But I guess
that is what you get when you bend over all the time.

You're the one screwing yourself you idiot and everyone in this entire
ng is fully aware of that fact. Because you're the one whose willing to
pay ten times the amount that we pay, for the very same thing.
So who's getting screwed?
Think again pal (if you can?).
