I am building a new system and buying fresh peripherals. I have a tight budget, so I am considering to cheap out on the keyboard and use the money to buy a better graphics card.

I play mainly Esport titles like CS:GO. So if I use a cheap wired membrane keyboard, will it affect my input lag?

So this is really one of those subjective questions where it depends on what you, personally, prioritise.

The advantageous of a nice keyboard is that it's something you can physically see and touch. People make out like more FPS is the be-all-and-end-all, but honestly the difference between 60 and 75fps isn't as tangible as we often think. For me at least, I really do like having a nice keyboard. It makes typing and interacting with the PC much better.

The big advantage of a nice mech keyboard is that it will, in all likelihood, still be a nice mech keyboard in 7-10 years time, long after whatever PC components you buy now are completely outdated.

On the other hand, you can buy a cheap keyboard for $10 and then save up or use...

On the other hand, you can buy a cheap keyboard for $10 and then save up or use presents to get a better keyboard later. All you waste is a few bucks on an interim keyboard which is a handy thing to have as a spare anyway. You can't get a $300 GPU, and then upgrade to a $450 when you save up another $150. You gotta either sell the $300 for less, or save up the whole $450.

If I were you I'd get the best PC components you can for now. And then make peripherals like keyboards, mice and headsets things you save up for over time.
