I have been searching for my first mechanical keyboard for my gaming PC. I was at Best Buy yesterday and got to type on the Razer Blackwidow but the noise is just too much and I do not like the green backlight. I also got to type on the Logitech G170+ and it felt perfect but probably because it was my first time typing on a mechanical board. I am stuck between the Logitech G170+ and the Corsair K70 with the brown switches. I have not seen the Corsair K70 available to test out so I am wondering which one to get. I do not want the keyboard to be more than $150.

If anyone knows which of these is good for gaming but does not make a lot of noise, it would be great. Thanks.

I have a Rosewill mechanical keyboard with the Cherry MX-Brown switches. They do not make a lot of noise.

Edit: Oops, it's the BROWN switches that are not loud; the BLUE ones are the clacky ones. There are some YouTube videos in which various people demonstrate the different keyboards and the sounds the various colors make.

I looked into Rosewill but I do not like how it doesn't have a wrist rest. I am really leaning towards the K70 because of the wrist rest and some videos I watched of it. The only thing I question about it is how easy it is to type on it because the keys are lifted higher up off the keyboard than normal keys?

No it was the 2013 edition.

I didn't have the chance to link the cooler master quickfire. They come in a full and a compact layout. (both versions have standard size keys.) They're simple and a bit on the cheaper side. They come in cherry mx red, blue and brown.

The razer green switch in the 2014, is quieter while still having a solid tactile feel to it. It also actuates closer to the top which is great for double taps. While you may not like the green backlighting you should do some research or find a best buy that has one demoed. (The store closest to me has one on display.)
