MechWarrior 4 Merc : Zonestats

I am unable to create a zonestat account for Mechwarrior 4 merc.

When i start the multiplayer option from the main menu I have to select a
connection. This connections seems to function correctly because i am able to
play games online (using Zone).
On this screen there is a button 'Zonestats...' to setup or review your
zonestats. When i click this button i get the message 'Error - Your account
was unable to connect to the ZoneStats Server.'. (and i am connected to the
internet)

I have tried this with and without third party add-ons (re-instelled it) and
in both cases i'm having these issues.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Or can you redirect me to the proper
support site because i can't find support for this on The Zone or on the
Microsoft site
(http://support.microsoft.com/select/default.aspx?target=assistance&c1=510&😉.
Any help would be welcome.

The Zone Stats server was an idea that never came to fruition. The stats server was supposed to give you some detailed statistics
about the games you played rather than just a won/lost number. The project was put on the back burner and never completed.

Your Won/lost ratings are viewable from the zone pages for ratings or by viewing your profile and looking under ratings. That's all
there is for now.

U say those stats aren't availeble. But for this game, they are active and
used mostly for official results for leagues. U can see it over here :
http://mw4.stats.zone.msn.com/mw4/zsweb/

From talking to other players, i've learned that they can activily use this
this button and they can get the results in-game. Also, if you have created
an account, the games you host will automaticly be repported.

Could it's no longer possible to sign-up for this service or could there be
some other error?

Ok, i found it out myself.
You need to be running as an admin and without a software firewall (like
ZoneAlarm). I tried both before, but not at the same time.

I could argue that this is quite unsafe and not correct by MS's current
standards. So i'm gonna minimize the use of this.
