Ok guys, so I have done a lot of reading on this stuff. I dont know how it started or why but I do know that my connectivity is off and on. Here is the deal...

I have a ARRIS SURFboard SBG6580. It has both WiFi and Ethernet.

When I plug my computer in through Ethernet, No Problems whatsoever.

When I set it up for WiFi (with my password like always) the connection comes and goes. It will be full speed one second and the next it will be completely out.

I will run a diagnostic and it says that the DNS cannot be reached. So the Diagnostic Win7 tool will reset the network adapter and then it comes back up and running, but the whole time I am getting "Media Disconnected" for everything. I dont know how to fix this, and obviously I dont want to run Diagnostics every time the signal drops out.

So before anyone recommends anything, I tried disabling and then uninstalling my NIC card, then reinstalled also I tried going into the RegEdit and changing some value to 0, cant remember which one right now I think it was in an IPV4 folder. I also tried all those CMD line prompts for refreshing stuff and renewing things and all that crap. None of that stuff worked, I restarted my computer and everything. I have followed every tutorial I can find to the tee and still nothing.

SO please help me fix this crap, I love you long time in advance!

Reboot modem, check for updated wifi drivers from the vendor. Is your DNS set manually? Does the connection to the router drop or just to the internet? When the connection to the router drops, see what the IP is then. Have the IPS see if there is an update to the modem you have.
