I am unable to connect to a router. It's a zhone znid-gpon-2424a. I tried logging in using the user manual, but it did not work out. I hit the CLI, and this is what I got:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>ipconfig

I would like to know how to go about dealing with this 'MEDIA DISCONNECTED' problem because it is making it impossible for me to even log into the router. I know that the problem is not my pc or the ethernet cable I am using because I also use another router with the same pc and cable and they work just fine. Please help

Solution
Media disconnected would most likely be a bad cable, cable plug, or port. Anything along the physical path between the pc and router.

Can you open your pc and ensure that the network adapters are all fully seated? Check all cables and connections. Swap out ethernet cables with known working cables.

Another thought is the error message itself. Could be misleading - i.e., the network adapter cannot find the router (looking for the wrong IP) and just announces "Media disconnected" as a catch-all error.

Try a factory reset on the router to ensure the router is at 192.168.0.1.
Wondering about that Default Gateway IP of 192.168.88.1?

Could be a IP typo or some other misconfiguration involved.

What is your DHCP server IP?

Default seems to be 192.168.0.1

(Reference: http://m.setuprouter.com/router/zhone/znid-gpon-2426-uk/login.htm)

Who has admin rights to the router?

Be sure that when connecting wirelessly that any wired adapters and other wireless adapters (if any) are disabled).

If you do not have IPv6 service via your ISP then uncheck using IPv6.

The [Default Gateway IP of 192.168.88.1] was assigned by another network that my pc was connected to at that time. I have the admin rights to the router. But they are completely useless if I cannot even log into the router. To log in to a router, you need it's IP address, which I cannot get because every time I try to get the CLI to tell me the IP address of the router, I get the MEDIA DISCONNECTED' line

Also that link that you provided was the first place I looked, it was not very helpful.

This is my network configuration outlook when my pc is not connected to any other network:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>ipconfig /all
