I've pulled out a desktop pc from retirement and want to turn it into a htpc build.
Years ago i used open elec, which is a small bootable linux based operating system that supports kodi, and also it saves me having to buy a windows OS.
On the website it looks like open elec has not been updated for a while, so are there any more modern alternatives to open elec, anything that allows me to use any kind of media player without the need to buy an operating system. What are the alternatives? Any pros or cons, such as differences in picture or sound quality, features
