Question Media programs keep glitching/freezing

I recently purchased a new PC, and whenever I am watching a show or listening to music, it will randomly glitch and freeze for a few seconds. This happens regardless of the program I am using and appears to be getting worse when I am on Netflix. Now when it glitches, the screen blacks out and I have to restart the app.
All drivers are up to date, though I did have issues when trying to install the graphics card, however it has since been successfully installed and updated.

Asus Prime H270M-Plus MB for Kaby Lake
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB
Samsung 970 EVO 250GB SSD

PSU is Corsair Builder Series VS550

Its not just Netflix. It happens when I use VLC, Windows Media Player. It also happens regardless of whether I am watching a DVD, or a media file. The audio also stutters when watching something, and recently started to fall out of sync with the picture when watching a movie. It has also been stuttering when I am listening to music as well (this is a problem I only just encountered today).
