I currently have an old PC that i would like to turn into a media server. I have 4 750gb HDD. Which raid would you recommend? I was thinking either 5 or 0+1.
Thanks

you might also consider Stablebit drive pool extender instead of a raid. One advantage is if your PC crashes or dies...you can reconnect the drives to a new PC with Drive Pool installed and it will rebuild your pool. You're not dependent on using the same motherboard to rebuild your system RAID if it dies. Drive pool also allows for file/folder duplication (any number of duplicates you choose) which allows the same number of HDD failures without losing your data...ie x2 duplication you can handle 1 HDD failures, x4 duplication handles 3 HDD failures etc.
