I am currently looking for a NAS for home use to store and stream all my movies (mkv, mp4, avi).
I am looking at the Synlology NAS DS415play and the QNAP TS-451.

I don't need transcoding as I will be doing that on my Xtreamer and my HTPC.
Should I go with the QNAP because I can upgrade the RAM to 8GB or is that even needed?

Both have 4 bays and decent GUI's.
I don't need 2 NICs as it will be bottle necked to one on the player side anyway.

Anyone?

Solution
if i were to buy a premade NAS and not just make one myself i'd get the QNAP. As for ram, ram is useful if you're doing more then just backing up stuff and downloading it off of the NAS. if you're video encoding with the NAS or something else it's not really made for you'll need more ram
