Media streaming won't stay enabled

Hi all.

On my Windows 10 PC the media streaming option in network and sharing centre keeps turning off.

After initially turning on media streaming when I got my PC nearly a year ago it's always stayed on and my PC appears on my tv and other devices under dlna devices.

Ever since the Windows 10 1803 update installed last week I've been having to turn media streaming on manually every time I boot.

I turn it on, it works perfectly for the duration that the pc is running, I shut down at night, then when the next morning I start it up it"s not running again.

Does anyone know what might be causing it to behave like this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its 1803. I have been having major problems with sharing that I haven't had time to fix yet on all of my systems. Most of my computers won't connect mapped drives from the server without running network troubleshooter now, since 1803.

Hopefully a fix is forthcoming from Microsoft.

At least it's not only me that's (still) having this problem. 😀

I'm really sorry that I have not replied until now. I usually rely on notification emails and I either missed or deleted by mistake the email notifying me that you had posted. It was only when I visited the forum today that I realised you had posted.

No problem. I found disabling IPV6 on all my systems has cleared most of these issues up. Give it a try.

I'm currently using KODI as my media server which is working perfectly. I'll give Windows another chance one day and keep your suggestion in mind.
