When i start my medion computer, the word Medion appears, then screen does blue with "shutting down". I`ve tried removing the battery, and pressing F8 button.....but its still the same every time I start it. Total novice, so stuck!

Please provide me with more information as I cant get it wright in my head. Is it showing a BSOD or just shutting down as normal. Is it running windows or Linux . If windows then which version. You can try booting into safemode and viewing all the files in startup. To view startup apps open taskmanager and go to startup. OR open run (Start+R) type msconfig and hit enter. You can find startup applications there. You can disable all startup items and try restarting in normal mode.

Thanks.Windows 10 is installed and was working Ok.Last night I switched off as normal. Now I press the power button, the screen lights up, the word"medion appears" then the screen goes blue and says "shutting down".On the screen there are no other icons, nor the mouse arrow so i cant open anything.I cant see anything on the scree i could press to even attempt to find a taskmanager, or disable anything????? When the system is booting you can press F8 and go into safe mode and reply the status, does it restart in safemode.

Also try disabling all startup items using taskmanager or msfconfig

No you cant get to taskmanager and msfconfig when the system is shutting down. But then the system is booting it windows logo appears keep pressing F8 then it would give you advanced options. Or you can do

This method I don't suggest doing it as it can cause data corruption.
When the system turns on ie windows logo appears wait for 2 second and turn off power ie UPS. Then turn it on. Now windows will give an additional message "Diagnosing your PC" Then after sometime it would give you 2 options. One is to restart the computer and other one is to open Advanced Settings. So click the advanced settings button. In there there would be aother advanced button. Click it. Now you can find an option called CMD (Command Prompt or Command line). Open it and type msconfig. This would open msconfig. If you type taskmgr, it would open task manger.

You are being really helpfull...thankyou. However, I can`t even get that far. The windows logo never appears............all that happens is
1.I switch on
2.The word "Medion"appears
3.The screen virtually immediately goes blue ,with the words "shutting down"

There is NOTHING else that appears on the screen.

I didn't get u any way you can reinstalling windows... Backup all the needed files using Linux and reinstall windows
