Hello,

I recently decided to purchase a 20" widescreen monitor to replace the TV that I was using. I also had to purchase a DVI-VGA adapter as my video card did not have a VGA input (6870HD).

Having plugged in the new monitor and then set the resolution to the maximum (1600x900), this is the result I am getting...

The desktop does not clearly fit. The Monitor OSD information tab states that is is running at 1280x960 and not the 1600x900 that I set within Windows.

I don't know what I can do to fix this, can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

No CD came in the box. I did however find a monitor driver on the Medion website, installed it but it made no difference (yes, I restarted).

I removed my video card and plugged the monitor straight into the on board VGA. The problem no longer exists. Can I assume the problem is either with the GPU or DVI-VGA adapter?

I'd blame the adapter before the card.

I hope it's not the card! I only just bought it brand new just under a month ago. A friend of mine is going to give me one his adapters, one that he says he has had no problems with. Hopefully it will work.
