In response to the title only...AMD is trying really hard, but would be completely surprised to see them gaining much ground aside from small independent companies. Most of the big boys and the government sector have contracts with companies like Dell or HP (and so on) and often specify Intel components exclusively. I have yet to run into any other variance, particularly in the govn't sector aside from Apple and even that is a very rare per case basis.

I'm all for AMD and even bought their stock when it was at 2$ (sold at15$ and bought a car thanks amd), but I must admit that AMD wrote this article lol
