Megatouch force fusion

Thanks for your advice. I'm a complete novice and i thought it would be as easy as replacing my "Dead" drive. I can't find any information on UK megatouch machines and the only information seems to be is that the security keys are different

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by questions that are US based vs UK based. What questions and how do they apply to a hard drive swap? SFAIK most hard drives are compatible in any machine, worldwide, since the power standards INSIDE the units have little to do with what kind of power grid you're on.

I have absolutely no clue what you are referring to, so I've asked for some other opinions regarding whatever it is, which I'm not sure. Honestly, I have no clue. I've never encountered anything even vaguely resembling what you describe in the last 25 or more years.

Is this a game console, for which you needed a replacement drive? We'll need more information, specifically what program is asking the questions. We mostly deal with personal computers, in which case one hard drive is much like another; it's formatted blank and then installed. If there is something pre-installed on your drive, we'll need to know what that is.

Did you purchase something like this?

I'm sorry i'll try to clarify. I have a megatouch fusion force upright. My 2005.5 hard drive failed. I purchased from the USA a replacement 2011 hard drive and key which i put in my machine. The games loaded and played however the quiz questions were mainly about America. ie, baseball, American football, American history etc. I have been told that by changing the security key it will then ask questions about the UK. ie British history, sports etc. In the specifications manuals for the force it states that US security keys end with -01 but does not give any indication to a British suffix. Obviously i want my force to ask UK questions. Thanks for all your help so far. Pete

Hi, it was purchased from a pub. They know nothing about the games machine. The original 2005.5 drive that failed was UK biased

The US seller can only supply a US key. he tells me i need a UK key which i have been unable to find, then UK biased questions will be on the machine

Then I guess you'd have to find a UK based seller of the drive for that. They may or may not provide you the 'key', without some sort of payment.

Or at least verification that you bought both the machine and the drive from reputable sources. I'd think that any UK company that does service on upright machines of that brand should be able to help you out. Whether they WILL or not is a different story. Sorry for the earlier confusion. I had no idea you were referring to an arcade upright machine.

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the advice given to me. Eventually i found that by using the Dip switches (I have no idea what this stands for) I could enter a menu to reboot my HDD and now all's well.
Thanks again
Pete
