Question "Megatrends" "Please press F1 to recover your BISO settings"... on start up??

Almost every time I turn on my PC from a cold, turned off at the wall, (no lights on) start, it keeps opening the "Megatrends" "Please press F1 to recover your BISO settings" page... and my previous BIOS settings are not there.

This doesn't happen when I turn the PC on with an on at the wall, (lights on start).... only from a cold start.

Recently, I installed AMD Ryzen Mater, and this started happening after that. I have uninstalled Ryzen Master now.

I would suspect your CMOS battery is in need of replacement.

Oh I think you are right... the clock started playing up a few weeks ago... I bought a battery for the CMOS... but then didn't use it because the clock worked again.

What other things can a CMOS battery affect?

The CMOS battery is what keeps your bios settings intact, when there is no power going to the board. Not aware of any other function.
