Mem/gpu/ ?????

Hello all new to posting here .
Having some very strange issues with what seems to be my video card and ram.
VPU recover kicks in and makes games unplayable if I use this new duel channel ram I got. I will list the working and non working setup.

Works-
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) or (4 x 1GB) SDRAM DDR2 675 (duel ch.)1.9V
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3
X1800XT

Works-
G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) SDRAM DDR2 800 (single ch.)1.8V - 1.9V
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3
X1800XT

Not work- (crash/vpu recover)
G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (duel ch.)1.8V - 1.9V
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3
X1800XT

As you can see only change is the G.SKILL channel setup. For some reason the video card or whatever it maybe doesn't like duel channel.
What the hell is going on here?

Maybe they're just not compatible. Here's the official list of supported memory chips for your MB:

Since G.Skill is not there, it may work, but there's no guarantee from Gigabyte.

Not compatible only in duel channel configuration? They work fine in single.
I've looked at the list and even that Corsair isn't on there and they work ok.

*Trying a new video card Monday. I also need to see if my voltage should be changed. Board calls for 1.8. The G.SKILL is 1.8-1.9. Also it recommends CL5 but the G.SKILL is CL4.
Maybe changing these settings will help.

After changing the the ram timing only, it was much more stable. The bios was setting the ram to 5. I set it to 4 because that's what was on the ram's sticker. Saw a huge improvement in stability but still got a vpu crash after a couple days.

Picked up a GTX 285-OCX problems solved!
What a major improvement, this card is a beast. Handles my gaming with no effort. Not only that but overall the system runs perfect now. So I guess the x1800xt was on its way out.
Which is sad considering the 9800xt in my gf's pc is still going strong. Does has aftermarket cooling though....

Should I change the ram timing back to 5 now??
I don't see anything strange going on but wasn't sure if I am doing any damage to the ram.
