Hello. Im in the process of building a new pc.
The psu i bought for the build is sadly malfunctioning and doesn’t deliver any power to the motherboard at all.
I tried hooking up my old psu, and the light in the motherboard turns on as it should. But when i turn the computer on it doesn’t boot. All lights and fan turns on but the dram and memok led buttons is on in a constant yellow. Holding in the memok button only shuts off the computer. I tried with only one stick of ram in different slots. Had the entire motherboard out and checked the cpu which seems to be fine - not too tight/crooked or anything.
One thing to note is, that the working psu i have is old (5+ years) 500w and the model is named sl-500a. The cable for the CPU only has 4 pins. Could my problem be that it just doesn’t deliver enough power?
My setup is:
Motherboard: Asus prime Z390-a
CPU: i7-9700k
GPU: Asus gtx 1060 6gb
Ram: 2 sticks of corsair vengeance pro 8gb
CPU cooler: cooler Master hyper 212
Faulty psu: corsair rm850x
