Memory amount in Vista 64

I just built a new machine and am running 64 bit Vista, it has 6 gig of RAM. I read an article on here that says 8-9 gigs is the sweetspot for a 64 bit OS. Is it worth adding another 3 gig?

It seems to run fine now. I am very happy. I am running an Asus P6T V2 Deluxe with OCZ memory.

More RAM means, no more paging on HDD. 6GB would be enough for todays applications.

A recent Tom's article touched on this subject. 3-6GB was the best compromise, and anything over 6GB was too much RAM and didn't introduce any performance gains. I would stick with 6GB unless you're doing serious video/photo editing and run out of memory lol.
