Memory and mobo compatibility

I have corsair vengeance ddr3 12gb (4x3) is there any problem if i run it with gigabyte b85-hd3 as i’ve read a thread saying that 12gb ram isn’t recommended just 8gb or 16gb, i need expert advice please.

It will work. 8GB will be in dual channel, the remainder will be in single channel, or all of it will be in single channel. Either way if 12GB is more important than dual channel, go for it.
