memory card as scratch disk

New to after effects/ premiere pro. how good it is to use Memory cards as scratch disk? have anyne tried succesfully? which is better SSD or Memory card? and what speed of card is needed?

SD cards will have a slow access time compared to a SSD and even a HDD to some extent, IIRC most SD cards have about 80mb/s read and write speed.

I'd leave it at the default settings before using an SD card for that.
