Memory card format not working

Hello, I am trying to open my memory card but it is showing a message to format it but when i am trying to format it , nothing is happening

check the write tab. if it gone or broken the card could be stuck in read mode only. the other issue is the card could have gone bad.

Also, a last ditch effort, if Windows can't format it, is to use the SD Association's format utility.

If that doesn't work, then as smorizio said, it's probably gone bad.
