Memory combination setup

I have a good PC, i7 cpu, mobo z170x, gtx 970, and 2 memory cards of 4gb hyperx making 8 gb of ram, if i buy two card of 8gb making 16 gb plus my original 8 gb is a good combination or its better to buy another pair of 4gb?

It'd be better to buy the same exact kit that you already have. Also make sure to get a z270 motherboard to insure out of the box compatibility

can you tell me why its better to get a mobo z270x? also mine is a z170xp - sli and my memory is a hyperx DDR 4, 2133 mhz....

It's the same socket but it has an updated bios that ensures compatibility right away.
